Pink Fog Studios is a boutique professional portrait photography studio with a low volume, high value-add approach to creating baby photography, business portraits, children photography, couples photography, family photography, maternity photography, newborn photography, senior pictures, sports portraits, event photography, and commercial photography. David Zwick takes a limited number of sessions a year. This personal approach allows David to provide a high-touch laser like focus on each engagement.

Many years ago, I attended an exhibit at the Modern Museum of Art in New York City. In their display, the artists had replicated a 1960s-era nursing home hospital room from Siberia.

The setting was lighted by gentle window light and completely still except for the sound of a slide machine marking time as it flashed photograph after photograph of the patients family and friends on the wall in front of the empty bed in the room.

You see, when people get old and sick and find themselves in a nursing home, they become increasingly isolated. This increased isolation leads to increased levels of anxiety and depression. A doctor found that if the nursing home staff built a slideshow from the patient’s photo albums and played it for 15 minutes a day, it would lift the patient out of his or her depression, and this became a form of treatment.

Why are images so powerful?  They are meaningful because they function as a mirror of love, forever capturing and reflecting back to us the memory of the those whom we love and who loved and cared for us. Family portraits reenforce family core values of worthiness and affection and care, reminding each member how valuable, loving, and lovable they are, playing an important role in developing and reenforcing our well-being, self-esteem, and personal power as a family and as individuals. Family portraits are much more then just ink and paper.

That is why I built Pink Fog Studios and work hard to take the best portraits I possibly can.
